shellfaq.zip (7168) Which is the best shell ? Here is the FAQ...
ash-0.2-5.i386.rpm (47104) ash is a bourne shell clone from Berkeley. It supports all of the standard Bourne shell commands and has the advantage of supporting them while remaining considerably smaller than bash.
bash-2.0.tar.gz (1356800) GNU Bash version 2.0
tcsh-6.07-1.src.rpm (564224) 'tcsh' is an enhanced version of csh (the C shell), with additional features such as command history, filename completion, and fancier prompts.
bash-1.14.7-6.i386.rpm (227328) Bash is an sh-compatible command language interpreter that executes commands read from the standard input or from a file. Bash also incorporates useful features from the Korn and C shells (ksh and csh). Bash is ultimately intended to be a conformant implementation of the IEEE Posix Shell and Tools specification (IEEE Working Group 1003.2).
bash-1.14.7-6.src.rpm (1534976) Bash is an sh-compatible command language interpreter that executes commands read from the standard input or from a file. Bash also incorporates useful features from the Korn and C shells (ksh and csh). gmc-4.1.35-1.i386.rpm (306176) Midnight Commander is a visual shell much like a file manager, only with way more features. This is the GNOME version. It's coolest feature is the ability to ftp, view tar, zip files and poke into RPMs for specific files. The GNOME version of Midnight Commander is not yet finished though. :-(
tcsh-6.07-1.i386.rpm (202752) 'tcsh' is an enhanced version of csh (the C shell), with additional features such as command history, filename completion, and fancier prompts.
